EcoMom Jennifer sent me this great article on education taking place out in the woods. The word kindergarten means “children’s garden.” Germany has about 700 Waldkindergärten, or “forest kindergartens,” Yesterday was magical for my family. We played in the woods of Bredesen for an hour. We each created our “homes” and decorated with shelf mushrooms, bark strips for carpet, and couches of fallen trees. The highlight was when Tanner’s boot was so stuck knee deep in mud we had to pry him out.
I may have gotten into it as much as they did. It was a wonderful connection.
